January means a lot of things to a lot of people. Here in Boise, it’s brutally cold and not a flake of snow to be seen. I guess that’s why anyone with any sense is out snowboarding right now. It’s a handy way to pretend that we live somewhere with a real winter.

For you and me, since we don’t have any sense, January means the ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF MY MAGNIFICENT BOOK. Yep, it’s been out for a year. So that comes with two important announcements…

Viperhawk: Witness Protection- 2nd Edition

I swore I wouldn’t do it. I was going to leave it intact, warts and all. They say to expose your practice (but not to practice for exposure), and a debut indie novel is destined to have a few errors in it. Then I read through the book again and a few of those errors were really starting to bother me, so I dug in and fixed it anyway. As of right now, Viperhawk: Witness Protection is available in an updated form.

Technically, it isn’t a 2nd edition. All I did was correct a few typos, some minor continuity errors (important for the second announcement), and adjust the text block. I didn’t add or subtract anything from the story itself.

It also isn’t a 2nd printing, because now that print-on-demand exists, I don’t have to buy copies in bulk. This saves about $50,000 in printing costs, which is handy. So I don’t know what to call it, I just wanted to let you know that it’s out there and slightly improved.

Of course, if you’re reading this email, you’ve probably already read the book. What’s that? You haven’t? What are you, gay? Get your copy here:

A hilarious sci-fi adventure! Miguel Murillo is a smuggler for the Irish mob, and if these witnesses don’t get to a distant planet on time then there will be war…

Viperhawk: Road Rage- Coming This Spring!

On a much more exciting note, I’m pleased to announce a sequel! Viperhawk: Road Rage is on its way-

Viperhawk: Road Rage

Gangsters on the planet Balthyon have figured out a way to get around the latest automotive laws. It’s a million dollar business, if they can get their counterfeit equipment past the Empire’s patrols. For that they need Miguel Murillo and the crew of Viperhawk.

This seemingly routine job for the best smuggler in the galaxy is anything but. The big city is full of big surprises, and when the gangsters find a competitor hiding in the criminal underworld, they soon uncover a conspiracy that goes a lot farther than the streets…

I’m shooting for an early March release. Never miss an update by making sure you’re subscribed to the newsletter, because you do NOT want to miss this one. It’s bigger, it’s badder, and it’s Viperhawkier in every way.

Get ready for Viperhawk 2. ■
