Sell The Kids is sort of like a primordial soup in which melodies are born. Sometimes those melodies stick around for a while and evolve into songs, sometimes they go extinct. Sometimes you get a straight rocker like No Diamonds, and sometimes you get an earache- like with Queens. Destroyer was a cool one that sounds like you’re hiding from something in the basement of a factory. There’s a weird tension to the whole album, where you constantly feel like the song is leading up to a big drop that never happens. It’s very creative and keeps you listening for more. Fun fact: I bought this tape with the money I got from selling my kids.
