“I never saw a wild thing

Sorry for itself.”

D.H. Lawrence

Greetings pilgrim. Have a seat, a cold drink, take your pants off. Your friendly neighborhood shaman bro is here again to unburden you of cultural indoctrination and set you loose on the world. Let your mind drift back through the ages to  simpler times.

I read somewhere that prehistoric man worked an average of 4 hours a week. Imagine what they must’ve done when they weren’t hunting mammoths or defying the elements. Maybe you can relate if you’ve ever been on a long camping trip like a family reunion or boy scout  camp.

Now imagine one caveman starts banging sticks on a log just for kicks. Caveman two starts mimicking caveman one. For some inexplicable reason they keep doing it. They laugh at each other. Maybe caveman two starts bobbing his head, matching his head-bobs to the strikes of caveman one’s sticks. Our ancestors started dancing. We started making music. We started making songs.

“Bruh, you know what would be cool? Doing this after eating those mushrooms we found.”

“Dude, you know what would be cooler? Banging some chicks, after eating mushrooms, while listening to this.”

“Okay bro, we’ll take turns.”

Voila, rock and roll was born.

Sex, Drugs, and Rock & Roll were the original religion. Then some dude somewhere wanted to be the chief guru and maybe his friends played along for a while and boom, organized religion was born, “My way is the one true way.”

It humors me how fucked up our society has become that we’ve completely divorced Sex, Drugs, and Rock & Roll from anything we might consider sacred. That old time religion is the foundation of everything sacred.

Nobody ever considers that their deep dark gangbang fantasies are actually innocent… until they roll for the first time. Nowadays religion is so convoluted that we have to flog ourselves to be worthy of passion.

Ecstasy, even spiritual ecstasy, is incomplete without an element of sensuality. And your most erotic nature, deserves to be held sacred.

“Religion is a defense against the experience of God,” said Carl Jung.

My point in all this, is to say that I believe punk isn’t all about being edgy and jaded and bitter. In fact it’s quite the opposite. It’s about never losing that primal human spark of innocence, bold curiosity, and reveling in your existence despite the oppressive mob.

Today’s new age woke religion of political correctness is no different than being catholic in the Middle Ages. It’s the state religion, and its primary utilization is to socially sanction witch-hunts against the non-conformists.

I believe it was Alain De Benoist who said, “Nobody converts to paganism, you wake up one day and realize you always were one.”
