Cool Ghouls from San Francisco played at the Olympic on June 12th, supported by Boise’s own Sloppy Kissers and Slurm Flirty Worm. These guys are like Grateful Dead with better moustaches. The set started very calm and ambient, suddenly there’s a song going on and everyone’s dancing. It was mostly relaxing soft rock with the occasional shot of nitrous oxide, like a wild feedback solo from the lead guitar. Three vocalists passed the lead singer duties back and forth and harmonized together very well. The keyboard player was sitting down and separated from the band, which was a pretty bad look. Come on bud, you’re on a stage. Get involved.
